August 3, 2002 LCC Booster Report:

On a cold blustery day in Calgary the Lowchen Club of Canada had its western Booster. The LCC supported the Lowchen entry at the Alberta Kennel Club show on August 3 under Judge Edna Joel of Boca Raton, Florida, USA. We provided prizes in addition to the rosettes and cash awards given out by the AKC. Our thanks to Kim Schmidt for organizing the event and the prizes. They were varying sized decorator pots filled with doggie cookies wrapped is cellophane and color coded with ribbon to match their award...very handy for the person distributing the gifts! Nancy Inlow presented the gifts and congratulations to the winners as Mrs. Joel handed out the ribbons.

We had an entry of 10 Lowchen (1 Male, 5 Females and 4 Specials). Mrs Joel showed consistency in her selections picking littermates for Best of Breed and Best of Opposite.

AKC/CKC CH. Kiji Its My Parti Wildheart (Ch Kiji Spencer For Hire x Ch Wildhearts Against the Wind) bred by Jayne LaPointe, owned by Kim Schmidt won Best of Breed being handled by Alicia Schmidt.

CH. Wildhearts Angel of Mine (Ch Kiji Spencer For Hire x Ch Wildhearts Against the Wind) bred by Jayne LaPointe and owned by Nadine Baldwin won Best of Opposite Sex, owner handled.

Kijis Your Wildest Dreams (Ch Elguarda Appollo Warrior x Ch Kijis Kameo Appearance) bred by Kim Schmidt and owner handled won Best of Winners and Winners Female.

Kijis As Good As It Gets (Ch Kiji It's My Parti Wildheart x Ch Kijis Victoria Secret) bred by Kim Schmidt and co-owned by Rhonda Stone, Kim and Alica Schmidt won Winners Male and Best Puppy handled by Rhonda Stone.

We had a quick moment after show time - it was a chilly day not lending itself to standing around chatting - to have a group photo of the exhibiters and their dogs. Check it out on the LCC website.
